Job summary

SeeMeHired.com is seeking a Learning Disability Support Worker to help young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and local community.

You will deliver person-centred support, plan activities to build independence, and assist with daily living skills while maintaining detailed digital care notes and collaborating with families and MDTs.

Qualifications

• At least 12 months’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
• PMVA training and strong de-escalation skills are required.
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Providing consistent, person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and local community.
• Planning and facilitating engaging, structured activities to build independence and social confidence.
• Supporting with daily living skills including meal planning, shopping, dietary needs and personal routines.
• Applying PMVA techniques and de-escalation strategies to safely manage challenging behaviours.
• Maintaining accurate and professional digital care notes, risk assessments, and incident reports.
• Collaborating with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure positive outcomes.

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this Learning Disability Support Worker role, you must have:

• At least 12 months’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.

• PMVA training.

• Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.

• Experience promoting independent living skills such as routines and nutrition.

• Confidence using digital care planning systems for accurate record keeping.

• A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

• Eligibility to work in the UK (Right to Work documentation required).

• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People or Adults).

Desirable Qualifications

• First Aid training or equivalent.
