Job summary

Company Shop Group is seeking a dedicated Community Chef Educator for the Community Kitchen at Beechwood, Birkenhead. You will lead culinary initiatives, prepare nutritious meals from surplus stock, and support community engagement through training and social impact programs.

You will work with stakeholders to drive positive community change, uphold food safety standards, and develop staff and volunteers within a values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Strong culinary background.
• NVQ level 2 in Catering (or similar).
• Food hygiene level 2 or above.
• Knowledge of HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver Community Kitchen’s culinary development programmes and social impact activities.
• Create nutritious meals from surplus stock while ensuring food safety and quality.
• Collaborate with retail/hub teams to promote membership and community engagement.
• Deliver in-house training and development programmes for staff and volunteers.
• Work with external partners in the not-for-profit and public sectors to maximise social impact.
• Uphold Health, Safety & Environmental policies and maintain compliant practises.

Skills

Strong culinary background

Education

NVQ level 2 in Catering
