Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Integrated Midwife (Band 6) for the Allerdale community team, based at Workington Community Hospital. The role is part-time (15 hours) with a focus on antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, including home birth support with colleagues at Copeland.

The post requires a full driving licence, car allowance consideration, and participation in on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with current NMC registration.
• Postgraduate certificate or higher in related field.
• Teaching certificate or equivalent.
• Neonatal examination certification.
• Postgraduate diploma or equivalent.
• Essential IT skills (EITS) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, woman-centred midwifery care across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods.
• Work autonomously while coordinating with the multidisciplinary team.
• Support birth choices and refer to obstetricians as needed.
• Maintain professional development and contribute to service development.
