Job summary

NHS Highland in Scotland is seeking a Band 6 Community Midwife to join the Mid Argyll locality. You will provide direct antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to women and their families within the community.

The role supports women's choices of birthplace, operates autonomously with back-up from Greater Glasgow and Clyde consultants, and includes an on-call commitment outside normal hours. A driving licence is essential to cover the Mid Argyll area.

Qualifications

• Band 6 Community Midwife with autonomous practice in a community setting.
• Direct antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to women and families.
• Support informed choice of birthplace and work within a community midwifery model.
• On-call commitment outside normal hours with consultant support as needed.
• A driving licence is essential for the post.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to women and families in the Mid Argyll locality.
• Support women's choices of birthplace and practice autonomously within the community midwifery model.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies during out-of-hours with on-call GP and hospital support.
