Job summary

Teign Homes is seeking a Community Housing Officer to help deliver cleaner, greener and safer neighbourhoods, conducting regular property inspections and addressing tenancy breaches. You will support lettings sign-ups, rents visits and coordinate access for safety checks with contractors.

The role requires building relationships with diverse customers and meeting targets with diplomacy and problem-solving. A flexible, person‑centred approach is essential in this Investor in People Platinum

Qualifications

• Experience in social housing is preferred.
• Ability to meet stretching targets and manage varied duties.
• Familiarity with housing legislation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect estates regularly and address property conditions, antisocial behaviour or tenancy breaches.
• Conduct Keeping In Touch visits with residents at their homes twice yearly.
• Assist Lettings Co-ordinator with viewings and sign-ups for new residents.
• Support rents team with home visits and tenancy management tasks.
• Coordinate with repairs company to access properties for gas/electrical tests and other statutory works.
