Job summary

We Manage Jobs (WMJobs) is seeking a Horticultural/Community Health and Wellbeing Officer to support disabled and vulnerable groups in Sandwell. The role blends practical horticulture with health promotion, social activities and tailored sessions across multiple sites.

The post is 37 hours per week with a salary of £25,878–£27,148 per annum FTE, dependent on skills and experience. A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use are required, with opportunities to deliver engaging

Qualifications

• Experience in horticulture, community or commercial gardening.
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle for business use.
• Minimum GCSE/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
• Interest in horticulture and healthy lifestyle.
• Basic cooking skills with families, young people and vulnerable groups.
• Food Safety Level 2 or working towards.
• Knowledge of site health and safety practices.
• Experience working in group settings.
• Ability to keep accurate records of activities and engagements.
• Interest in disability support and engaging disabled or vulnerable people.
• Motivating people to be more active and adopt healthy lifestyles.
• Basic knowledge of working with plants and fresh produce.

Responsibilities

• Enable delivery of therapeutic and social horticultural activities across community and site settings.
• Plan and deliver accessible and safe programmes, open days, workshops and festivals.
• Support engagement for disabled or vulnerable groups and promote health and wellbeing.
