Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is recruiting for a Community Highways role based at Gailey, covering South Staffordshire and Cannock. This full-time position focuses on delivering high-quality highway services with a community-based approach and strong data handling capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience with complex data, administration qualifications, excellent customer service, and the ability to interpret maps. Interviews are scheduled during the week of 16 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with complex data and responding to written and verbal enquiries.
• Business administration experience or equivalent qualifications.
• Excellent customer service skills and a professional approach when dealing with the public.
• Ability to interpret maps with a good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support the local Community Highways team to provide a community-based approach to delivering the highway service and improve community satisfaction.
• Provide a first-line response to enquiries and be the go-to person for community enquiries related to highways.
• Interrogate digital records and GIS systems to support decision making.
• Collate information to respond to requests and assist in producing reports and programmes of work.
