Job summary

A local healthcare foundation is seeking an enthusiastic volunteer in Kingston upon Thames to support individuals at risk of falls by delivering an exercise program post-discharge from hospital. Job description
Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to support individuals at risk of falls in their homes across Kingston Borough. The role involves delivering an exercise programme to patients discharged from hospital and working alongside physiotherapists to keep people safe and independent.

Responsibilities
  • Work with physiotherapists to carry out functional assessments and interventions.
  • Deliver an 8‑week exercise programme with patients at home after discharge.
  • Assist patients in identifying suitable activities that fit their budget or transport needs.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Interest or experience in physiotherapy, rehabilitation or community health.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
  • Reliable transport and ability to attend assessment and mandatory training dates.
Assessment & Training
  • Assessment week: 20‑minute assessment on 26 January 2026 or 2 February 2026 at Kingston Hospital.
  • Mandatory training on Tuesday 10 March 2026.

  • Provide two references, one of whom you have known for at least 3 years and include their email addresses.
  • Bring a minimum of three valid, current, original identification documents (see the group lists for acceptable options).
  • NOTE: The required ID documents must be presented at the assessment to proceed with the application.
