Job summary

Carbon Co-op is hiring an Energy Advisor to provide tailored support for households in Moss Side, Rusholme, Longsight and Levenshulme. The role focuses on damp, energy bills, and warm homes, with outreach through street stalls and workshops.

You will work one-to-one in community hubs and by phone, offering practical guidance and advocacy to improve resilience. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Experience working with the public in a frontline role.
• Empathy and patience to support vulnerable communities.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide nonjudgmental energy advice to households at risk of cold and damp homes and high energy bills.
• Deliver inclusive, culturally aware engagement with diverse communities.
• Help clients understand bills and access energy support.
• Work in community hubs and via phone to offer one-to-one guidance.
• Explain heating controls and simple energy-saving measures to empower users.
