Job summary

NHS Ayrshire & Arran invites applications for a Community Staff Nurse (Band 5) in the District Nursing team based at Biggart Hospital, Prestwick. The post is permanent, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a weekend commitment and pro rata across the week.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for a variety of community clients, with responsibility for caseload management in the absence of the Charge Nurse. A UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC Registration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in community or district nursing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for community clients.
• Manage caseload in the absence of the Charge Nurse and supervise staff as required.
• Demonstrate initiative and lone-working capability across community settings.
• Maintain up-to-date clinical records and participate in relevant training.
