Job summary

Guardian Jobs in Rotherham is seeking a Group Development Worker to empower local communities and voluntary groups through effective community action. The role focuses on supporting groups to set up or maintain structures, advise on funding regimes, and develop action plans across the Borough.

Some evening/weekend work and travel throughout the Borough are expected, with flexibility on hours between 3 and 5 days.

Qualifications

• Experience in community development and working with voluntary/community groups.
• Knowledge of funding regimes and requirements.
• Ability to develop and maintain partnership working.
• Organise, plan and prioritise work using own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Work with local people and groups to empower community action.
• Support groups to set up or maintain structures and advise on development needs.
• Work in local neighbourhoods to implement action plans and achieve aims.
• Travel across the Borough and occasional evening/weekend work may be required.
