Job summary
Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation is seeking a part-time Community Champion to inspire in classrooms and support pupils across Sussex. The role is based at 136 Freshfield Road offices, Brighton, but will predominantly operate in secondary schools, requiring 21 hours per week in a permanent position.
You will mentor students, build safe spaces, and track progress while collaborating with school teams and Foundation colleagues to maximise impact.

- Lead with empathy and rapport with young people, including SEND or SEMH needs.

- Drive impact by leveraging sports and education to transform lives.

What is the role?
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Inspire in the Classroom: Deliver cross-curriculum lessons focused on personal development, mental health, wellbeing, and career aspirations.
- Mentor & Support: Provide targeted 1-1 and small-group mentoring to empower students and manage behavioural challenges.
- Build Safe Spaces: Create inclusive, non-judgmental environments where every student feels supported and heard.
- Stay Connected: Handle day-to-day administration, track pupil progress on our data systems, and work closely with school teams and Foundation colleagues.
- A People Person: You naturally rapport with young people, including students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- A Team Player & Problem-Solver: You remain calm under pressure, think pragmatically on your feet, and bring a positive, collaborative energy to secondary school environments.
