Job summary

Ledbury Town Council is seeking a Community Development Officer to strengthen community participation and support town-led activity in Ledbury. The role focuses on building relationships with organisations, residents and partner agencies to deliver social wellbeing and civic life initiatives.

The role involves supporting council events, helping organisations access funding, encouraging volunteering, and assisting with risk assessments and communications.

Qualifications

• Experience working with community organisations or voluntary groups.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to coordinate projects and events, and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive relationships with community organisations, volunteers and partners.
• Support planning and delivery of Council and community events.
• Help local organisations identify funding opportunities and develop projects.
• Encourage volunteering, partnership working and community participation.
• Assist with event management plans and risk assessments.
• Promote community initiatives through newsletters and digital channels.
• Support administration of the Council's community grants programme when required.
