Job summary

Madeley Town Council is seeking a proactive Community & Events Officer to lead the planning and delivery of a diverse events programme across Madeley, Sutton Hill and Woodside. The role is 32.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 9am–4pm) in a friendly local council setting.

You will work with residents, groups and partners to organise events such as Christmas Lights, High Street celebrations and family activities, with duties covering promotion, volunteer coordination, grants, budget monitoring and health

Qualifications

• Experience of organising community events and projects.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of a diverse programme of community events across Madeley, Sutton Hill and Woodside.
• Coordinate event promotion and volunteer involvement.
• Prepare and monitor event budgets and grant applications.
• Ensure health and safety responsibilities are met.
• Liaise with residents, community groups and partner organisations.
