Job summary

NHS Borders in Kelso is seeking an enthusiastic CTAC support worker to assist registered nurses and develop skills across care areas. You will perform phlebotomy, record vital signs, process urinalyses, ECGs and wound care, while using IT systems to support patient care.

You must have good communication, the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, and a driving licence for occasional travel. The role is a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with phlebotomy, vital signs, urinalysis, ECGs or wound care is advantageous; full training provided.
• Access to a vehicle and a full driving licence is essential for occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Support registered nurses within the CTAC team.
• Assist with phlebotomy, recording vital signs, urinalysis, ECGs and wound management.
• Use IT systems as part of patient care and documentation.
• Work flexible family-friendly hours, Monday - Friday.
