Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor / SEMH Support Worker for Bodmin and surrounding Cornwall. This full-time, long-term role focuses on re-engaging students who have faced challenges in mainstream education, using community-based learning to build confidence and resilience.

You will work across Primary or Secondary sites, collaborate with families and local agencies, and support pupils through personalised interventions while safeguarding and promoting wellbeing.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
• Available for full-time, long-term work.
• Experience with SEMH/SEN or vulnerable youth is beneficial.
• Strong communication, patience, empathy and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

• Classroom re-engagement: develop personalised strategies to re-engage learners.
• Community-based learning: lead educational visits and activities in Bodmin and surrounding areas.
• Multi-agency collaboration: work with parents, social workers and local agencies.
• Targeted interventions across Primary or Secondary sites as required.
