Are you looking for a rewarding, full-time, long-term Learning Mentor role in Bodmin? We are seeking a compassionate and resilient mentor to support young people across Bodmin and the surrounding Cornwall area who have faced challenges in mainstream education.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work outside traditional classroom settings, utilising community-based learning to help pupils build self-esteem, develop personal coping strategies, and successfully re-engage with schooling.
Classroom Re-engagement: Develop personalised strategies to help disengaged young people build confidence and reintegrate into the learning environment.
Community-Based Learning: Drive and lead educational visits and activities across Bodmin and local communities to promote real-world learning.
Multi-Agency Collaboration: Partner with parents, carers, social workers, and local agencies to provide comprehensive pastoral support.
Targeted Interventions: Support pupils across Primary or Secondary sites, depending on your experience and preference.
Driving License: Full UK Driving License and access to a reliable vehicle (Essential for community-based work).
Education: GCSE grade C/4 or above in both Maths and English (or equivalent).
Commitment: Must be available for full-time, long-term work.
Skills: Excellent communication, patience, empathy, and strong behaviour management skills.
Experience: Previous experience working with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), SEN, or vulnerable youth is highly beneficial.
Competitive Daily Rate: Earn between £92.56 and £95.00 per day.
