Job summary

Midsomer Norton Town Council is seeking an experienced and proactive Property & Facilities Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of its buildings, parks, open spaces and community facilities, including assets held by the Town Trust.

You will ensure safe, well maintained properties, manage maintenance programmes, capital projects and asset records, and build strong relationships with residents and partners.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in property, facilities or asset management.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance and health and safety legislation.
• Experience managing contractors, maintenance programmes, budgets and asset performance.
• Excellent organisational, communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
• Proactive and solution-focused with ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Managing planned and reactive maintenance programmes.
• Leading capital improvement and asset development projects.
• Maintaining and developing the asset register and management plans.
• Planning long-term investment and sustainability initiatives.
• Monitoring asset performance and improving utilisation and value.
• Managing contractors and service providers to ensure high standards.
• Line-managing the Town Warden and supporting operations.
• Developing relationships with residents, groups, partners and users.
