Job summary

Wotton under Edge Town Council invites applications for an Estates Manager to lead the estate, buildings, green spaces and public infrastructure. You will provide strategic leadership across land, buildings and public spaces, ensuring safety, compliance and well-maintained assets.

The role oversees capital projects, refurbishment programmes and long-term asset planning, while modernising systems and enhancing operational resilience.

Qualifications

• Senior level experience in estates, facilities or asset management across multiple sites.
• Strong knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance and statutory compliance.
• Experience leading teams, managing contractors and overseeing capital/refurbishment projects.
• Experience budgeting, financial planning and value for money assessments.
• Clear communication and relationship-building skills.
• NEBOSH or equivalent (desirable) and heritage/buildings experience (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across land, buildings and public spaces, ensuring safety and compliant maintenance.
• Oversee inspections, risk assessments and contractor activity to high standards.
• Lead the Estates Team, coordinate operational delivery and project work.
• Plan long-term asset management, capital refurbishments and system modernisation.
• Ensure adherence to building regulations, health and safety standards, and resilience.
