Employing around 950 people across the UK, we are proud to be a responsible business that takes care of our people, values diversity, gives something back to our communities and works to minimise our environmental impact.

For 150 years AG Barr has been building great brands and is home to some of the nations favourite flavours. At our core is IRN-BRU, launched in 1901 and still going strong today, the vibrant RUBICON fruit based brand, Boost making every moment better with a caffeine kick, hydration hit or tasty treat, and FUNKIN where real fruit means authentic taste. We also have a number of exciting owned brands within our portfolio including MOMA, which crafts quality oats into great tasting oat drinks and porridges. There's never been a better time to join us!

What we're looking for...

Joining our Communications team, part of our People function, you'll be part of a small team with a big remit - to deliver brilliant communications across a range of channels to key stakeholders and audiences, and to help protect and promote our corporate reputation. Working with the Head of Communications, you'll have a broad and varied role but with a particular focus on employee communication and engagement. As a communications specialist, you'll create great content, guide others on best practice techniques and make sure that the right message hits the right audience every time.

Your responsibilities will include...
  • Building strong relationships and contacts across the business to allow the identification of employee, business and brand content for onward employee communication.
  • Simplifying and `translating' this content into appropriate material and delivering it across the business, choosing the best selection of communication channels e.g. Fizz (our internal communications platform), videos, e-newsletters, digital screens etc.
  • Managing communication campaigns and channels for specific projects across different business teams, participating in meetings as the subject matter expert and advising teams of the best approach to communication.
  • Effectively `owning' the communication workstream.
  • Responsible for the content creation and community management of Fizz (our internal communications platform), to engage and inform our people
  • Creating engaging social media content and managing the upkeep of sites including Linkedin.
  • Responsible for the development of our corporate website, as well as its content and upkeep, co-ordinating with colleagues to ensure it reflects the business and website best practice.
  • Supporting the Head of Communications with the planning and delivery of key events across the business (e.g. Barr Live, Leadership events and brand events)
  • Managing the day-to-day relationship with our corporate charity partners and our business-wide Charity Champions, to encourage employee engagement across all sites.
  • Playing a key role in bringing our People, Health & Wellbeing, and ESG strategies to life.
What you'll bring...
  • A relevant degree (or equivalent) with at least 2 years' experience in a communications related role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written - you'll notice spelling mistakes and mispronunciations!
  • Digital savviness coupled with a willingness and capability to learn about new platforms and systems including our website content management software (Umbraco currently) as well as video and design platforms such as Canva and Vimeo.
  • A flexible communication style that can be adapted to suit any audience.
  • An ability to build and develop great working relationships with a wide range of employees.
  • A drive to continually improve - always striving to find new and better ways.
  • Creativity - you'll have flair in your written copy and an artistic eye.
  • Initiative - this is a role where you can make a difference and create your own success.
  • Drive your own career by stepping forward and taking the lead.
  • And the less exciting but just as important bit - you'll be an effective planner, organised with good attention to detail and you'll see jobs through from start to finish.
