We believe every colleague plays a crucial role in keeping the country moving. To achieve this, we need to communicate effectively, share our brand story, and ignite excitement about our journey. We're looking for a talented Communications Executive to join our vibrant team at our Donnington, Telford site.

YOUR ROLE

Want to listen and learn from people across our business before putting plans into action to keep them engaged? This is the role for you. You'll work with key people across our Contract Logistics Business Unit to deliver communications that keep our colleagues informed and excited. You'll support the development, implementation, and embedding of our UK-wide communication plan and strategy, gathering feedback along the way. Additionally, you'll develop and create innovative communications while reinforcing Kuehne+Nagel's brand. If you enjoy a challenge and want to be part of an exciting journey, then we're the right fit. Be ready to understand our business—logistics is more interesting than you think. Our mission is to support the hardworking people across the UK to deliver for our customers, so understanding what motivates them is key.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Embrace Flexibility with Us! Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. During your first six months, you'll be based on-site to foster relationships and connect with colleagues. After this period, enjoy the flexibility of working three days in the office and two days remotely.

  • Provide expert writing, formatting, proofreading, and editing services to the Contract Logistics business.
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams, liaise with the central Kuehne+Nagel communications team, and follow guidance on corporate content.
  • Plan communications in partnership with the Contract Logistics Leadership team to define, plan, and deliver a fully integrated communication schedule aligned with the UK strategy.
  • Support local and national colleague awards and recognition mechanisms.
  • Tell our story to colleagues: ensure a consistent flow of information as per the communication plan and directives from senior leaders and operations. Work closely with internal stakeholders and develop action plans aligned with our strategy and behaviors. Respond to topical issues or short-term changes.
  • Support colleague engagement by advising on feedback, insights, and research, and developing new messages and methods. Assist in delivering organizational objectives related to engagement.
  • Use tools like surveys and focus groups to measure communication effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements.
  • Assist stakeholders in developing communication materials such as briefing documents, statements, and FAQs, including external stakeholder communications.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Creative with excellent copywriting skills for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to analyze data (e.g., surveys) and present findings effectively.
  • Experience as a Communications Executive dealing with a diverse employee base, including office and operational staff (preferred).
  • Positive, self-motivated, ambitious, resilient, solutions-focused, and passionate about communications.
  • Ability to translate complex messages into engaging stories, copy, and visuals.
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with Adobe creative packages is a plus. Relevant qualifications in communications, marketing, or journalism are desirable but not essential.

Please note that by applying, you agree to participate in employment screening, including criminal record checks and identity validation. Successful applicants will need to provide necessary documentation for these checks, and appointment is conditional upon satisfactory results.

GOOD REASON TO JOIN

If you wish to become a valued member of our team, we offer rewarding benefits including 26 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with opportunities for additional days based on service. You can join our contributory pension plan and benefit from our Route 2 Rewards scheme, offering discounts, recognition, and wellbeing resources. We also support our colleagues and their families through our employee assistance program, providing 24/7 access to GPs, legal and financial advice, and mental health support.
