SF Recruitment is partnering with a Nottingham-based organisation to recruit a Communications & Engagement Manager to join the People team. You will own the communications and engagement strategy and hands-on delivery across internal and external audiences.

You will work closely with the Head of HR and leadership to enhance how the business communicates, engages stakeholders and embeds inclusive practices while delivering impactful initiatives and reporting outcomes.

Communications & Engagement Manager

SF Recruitment are exclusively working with an established organisation in Nottingham to recruit a Communications & Engagement Manager to join their People team.

This is a varied role combining internal and external communications, employee engagement, organisational culture and inclusion. We're looking for someone who can take ownership of the communications and engagement strategy, while also being hands‑on in delivering initiatives that make a genuine difference across the business.

Working closely with the Head of HR and wider leadership team, you'll play an important role in improving how the organisation communicates with its employees, engages with stakeholders and creates an inclusive working environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and delivering internal and external communications and employee engagement strategies
• Creating communications plans, campaigns and engaging content for different audiences
• Managing internal communication channels, including newsletters, intranet updates, employee briefings and business announcements
• Supporting senior leaders with clear and consistent communications across the organisation
• Developing employee engagement initiatives, surveys, focus groups and feedback opportunities
• Analysing employee feedback and engagement data to identify trends and recommend improvements
• Supporting equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives and helping embed inclusive practices across the business
• Planning and coordinating employee events, recognition activities and engagement campaigns
• Managing external communications, media relationships and PR agency activity
• Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting communications around organisational change, sensitive matters and business developments
• Monitoring the effectiveness of communications and engagement initiatives and producing reports and recommendations

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with previous experience in communications, employee engagement or a similar role, ideally gained within a medium to large organisation.

You'll need:

• Experience developing and delivering internal and external communications strategies
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to create engaging content for different audiences
• Experience delivering employee engagement initiatives and gathering meaningful feedback
• A good understanding of organisational culture, equality, diversity and inclusion
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and influencing people across different levels of a business
• Experience managing communications campaigns and multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
• An analytical approach, with experience using engagement data and feedback to drive improvements
• The ability to handle sensitive information and challenging conversations professionally
• A relevant qualification in Communications, Marketing, HR, Business or equivalent professional experience

You'll be someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery. We're particularly interested in someone who is proactive, confident building relationships and comfortable taking ownership of projects from initial planning through to implementation.

This role would suit an experienced Communications or Employee Engagement professional who enjoys working closely with people, improving organisational culture and making sure employees feel informed, involved and listened to.
