Job summary

St Helens Borough Council is seeking a Commissioning Officer to lead prevention services and technology-enabled care across Adult, Children and Public Health services. You will collaborate with NHS partners, voluntary groups, and tech providers to design and commission services that help people stay independent and connected in their communities.

Educated to degree level or with relevant commissioning, technology or prevention experience in health or social care, you will drive cross-sector

Qualifications

• Understanding of tech-enabled care and assistive technology and how they interface with social care.
• Experience or strong commitment to working with people with lived experience.
• Knowledge of population health approaches for children and adults, including social prescribing and prevention.
• Strong commissioning skills from needs assessment to procurement and contract management.
• Ability to build partnerships across NHS, housing, voluntary sector and technology providers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commissioning of prevention services and technology-enabled care solutions across Adults, Children and Public Health.
• Work closely with voluntary sector, NHS partners, technology providers and social work colleagues to design and commission services.
• Ensure services keep people independent, healthy and connected to their communities for longer.
