Job summary

Connect2Hackney is seeking an experienced Commissioning Officer to support Adult Social Care commissioning in the London Borough of Hackney. You will monitor contracts, manage performance and work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to secure high-quality, value-for-money services.

You will analyse contract performance, support financial monitoring and contribute to market development while ensuring data is managed securely and in line with regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in commissioning, contract management or contract monitoring.
• Experience monitoring service and provider performance against standards.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to build productive relationships with external providers.
• Ability to identify issues and develop appropriate solutions.
• Experience preparing clear, high-quality reports and performance information.
• Understanding of health and social care policies and regulations.

Connect2Hackney is looking for an experienced Commissioning Officer to support Adult Social Care commissioning services within the London Borough of Hackney.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong commissioning, contract management and provider monitoring experience who is confident working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

The role

As a Commissioning Officer, you will support the effective management and monitoring of commissioned services, helping to ensure contracts deliver high-quality services, value for money and positive outcomes for Hackney residents.

You will work closely with commissioners, Adult Social Care services, providers and finance colleagues, building effective relationships while monitoring quality, performance and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the quality and performance of commissioned services and contracts against agreed standards and performance indicators.
• Support effective contract management and monitoring, identifying risks, areas for improvement and performance issues.
• Build strong working relationships with external providers, commissioners and internal Adult Social Care teams.
• Analyse and report on contract performance using relevant local and national data and benchmarking information.
• Support the financial monitoring of contracts and reporting of expenditure, working alongside finance colleagues.
• Arrange and support regular provider review meetings, ensuring relevant commissioners and service managers are involved.
• Work collaboratively with providers where improvements are required and support the development of appropriate improvement plans.
• Support service reviews to ensure commissioned provision remains fit for purpose and provides value for money.
• Contribute to market development and commissioning activity, identifying opportunities to improve services.
• Ensure information and data relating to commissioned services is managed accurately and securely.

About you

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Experience within commissioning, contract management or contract monitoring.
• Experience monitoring service and provider performance against agreed standards.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience developing productive relationships with external providers.
• The ability to identify contractual or service performance issues and develop appropriate solutions.
• Experience preparing clear, high-quality reports and performance information.
• An understanding of health and social care services, including relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• A good understanding of contract management principles and the importance of delivering quality services alongside effective use of public money.
