Job summary

BELECTRIC Solar Ltd. in Brinkworth, United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Commissioning Supervisor to lead the commissioning of solar PV and battery energy storage projects. You will oversee HV, LV, BESS, and PV commissioning, supervise teams and coordinate with DNOs, clients and contractors.

The role demands strong knowledge of electrical schematics, safety compliance, and UK grid code requirements, with responsibility for documentation, risk management and project handover.

Qualifications

• Proven HV switchgear, transformer, and related plant commissioning experience.
• Experience with LV transformer stations and distribution systems.
• Commissioning BESS, including AC/DC and DC/DC equipment.
• Knowledge of earthing system design and EPR assessment.
• Experience testing PV modules and string tests.
• Ability to read and interpret SLDs and schematics.
• Liaise with DNOs and client/stakeholder representatives.
• Knowledge of BS 7671, IEC 60364, and UK grid code requirements (G99/G100).

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of commissioning across Solar PV and BESS projects from pre-energisation to handover.
• Coordinate commissioning teams, subcontractors and stakeholders; manage risks and documentation.
• Oversee HV testing, protection settings, and energisation to meet standards.
• Supervise LV transformer stations, ensuring safe operation and protection discrimination.
• Commission and verify BESS, PCS, EMS/SCADA interfaces and grid connectivity.
• Interpret SLDs, resolve discrepancies between design and as‑built installations.
• Act as primary interface with DNOs and clients, providing project updates and risk escalations.
