Job summary

Equans Data Centres is seeking Commissioning Engineers with a Mechanical and/or Electrical bias to support our growing Data Centre facilities. Based initially in Motherwell, Newport or High Wycombe, you will lead tests and commissioning of mechanical and electrical plant within agreed timescales, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

You will compile test documentation, liaison with subcontractors, and contribute to progress reporting while following Equans' commissioning procedures

• Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor.
• Excellent attention to detail with accurate work output.
• Strong writing skills for drafting test procedures and coverage files.
• Understanding and application of project engineering procedures.
• Excellent communication skills across teams and stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
• Solid Health and Safety awareness and compliance mindset.
• Experience with internal trades and coordination.
• Knowledge of UK building regulations and standards.
• Understanding of UK Health & Safety construction laws.

Job description

Equans Data Centres are seeking to appoint Commissioning Engineers with a Mechanical and/or Electrical bias to support our growing Data Centres. We’re committed to providing cutting edge solutions for our clients’ Data Centre facilities and are recruiting Commissioning Engineers to join our innovative team initially based in Motherwell, Newport or High Wycombe. The roles will be responsible for ensuring effective test and commissioning of Data Centre processes within set timescales, including quality and health & safety management.

What you will deliver?

• Requirements Management (able to interrogate Engineering Schedule, Verification & Validation requirements, etc).
• Assist the commissioning engineers and managers with the verification and operation of mechanical/electrical plant and equipment. This includes liaising with specialist sub-contractors and Equans package managers to follow the specific commissioning process from Level 1 to Level 5.
• Compiling and preparing commissioning test documentation.
• Assist in ensuring that work is carried out in full conformance with quality, environmental and safety requirements.
• Attend site commissioning meetings.
• Provide information for Progress Reports.
• Assist the Internal Trades Manager to prepare inspection and test plans for each element of the works.
