Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activity for projects, directing site teams and coordinating with PMs and contractors.
• Ensure commissioning activities align with project timelines and milestones.
• Mentor and guide commissioning team members for continuous improvement.
• Provide SME advice to Project Managers, Field Engineering and Installation Engineers.
• Oversee testing, validation and documentation of all systems during commissioning.
• Provide 3rd line technical support to installation and service where applicable.
• Manage commissioning start-up on major/complex systems per project specs.
• Maintain NSI installation standards, identify and rectify faults, train staff as needed.
• Prepare systems for final inspection and handover to Operations; support client acceptance.

Job Description

What you will be doing

• Lead & direct all commissioning activity for a project including the lead staff position responsible for and directing all commissioning activities at the site.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure all commissioning activities are integrated into the overall project timeline.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to other commissioning team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Interfacing with various stakeholders including the Project Managers, Field Engineering, and Installation Engineers to provide subject‑matter expert advice and leadership regarding commissioning and start‑up.
• Oversee the commissioning process, including the testing, validation, and documentation of all systems and equipment.
• Provide 3rd Line Technical Support to the installation department (and service where applicable).
• Responsible for the commissioning and start‑up on all major, and, or complex systems, in a controlled sequence and to the project specifications.
• Maintaining NSI installation standards, compliance and quality in the field, identify errors/faults, and provide guidance on rectification, and where possible provide one on one field training.
• Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the commissioning process, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Prepare systems for final inspection and hand over to Operations Team after commissioning procedures are complete.
• Support system handover and client acceptance.
• Report to the installation owner (Project Manager, Installation Manager) on issues regarding commissioning, start‑up, schedule and progress.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure a smooth transition from commissioning to full operational status.
• Support on site surveys and site installation meetings.
• Observe the highest standard of Health and Safety and act in accordance with regulations at all times.
• Promote a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures, identifying areas of risk and reporting any faults to the appropriate department.
• Any other duties as reasonably required by the business. Consistently provide a high level of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

What you will need

• Technical experience working on communication and paging systems in high pressured environments preferably within the healthcare sector.
• Proactive response to all situations; ability to work alone and think on your feet.
• Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
• At least 5 years’ experience in installing/commissioning communication products.
• A strong commercial focus to ensure projects are delivered on budget, on time and to agreed quality standards.
• Experience of project delivery and planning to anticipate future requirements and to mitigate risk.
• Sound knowledge of IP technology & networks.
• Problem solving complex communication installations.
• Good communication skills
• Exceptional time management & planning skills.
