Job summary

Aqumen Business Solutions is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to lead the programming, commissioning and technical support of control panels and automation systems. The role is site-based with extensive UK and overseas travel, 40 hours per week, involving regular customer-site visits.

You will diagnose issues, configure PLC/HMI systems and provide on-site support to ensure projects are delivered successfully while maintaining professionalism with demanding customers.

Hours – 40 hours per week

Location: Site-based commissioning with UK and Overseas Travel. Please note this role will involve extensive travel and long periods of time away

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our client on a permanent basis, responsible for the programming, commissioning and technical support of control panels and automation systems.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing position involving regular travel to customer sites across the UK and overseas. You will be responsible for commissioning control panels, troubleshooting systems and providing technical support to ensure projects are delivered successfully.

The successful candidate will be technically capable, practical and confident working independently. Just as importantly, you will need to be calm under pressure and resilient when dealing with demanding customers and challenging commissioning environments.

Driving Licence

A full UK driving licence is required.

Working Hours & Travel

The standard working week is 40 hours.

The role will involve significant on‑site commissioning and travel, including UK‑wide and overseas projects. Flexibility around working hours and time away from home will therefore be required depending on project demands.
