Job summary

The Emory at Belgravia is recruiting a Commis Waiter/ess to join the opening abc kitchens team. The role is based in a luxury Maybourne Hotel and focuses on delivering high-end guest service in a vibrant, contemporary setting with views of Hyde Park.

You will be part of a warm, collaborative team, supporting service excellence, maintaining menu knowledge, and upholding Emory and LQA standards throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience in a luxury hotel environment is preferred.
• Warm and friendly approach with guest services mindset.
• Ability to anticipate guests' needs and deliver exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Support the waiting team to ensure the guest experience is the best it can be.
• Maintain full knowledge of menus and participate confidently in briefs and to guests.
• Deliver Emory standards and LQA standards across service delivery.
• Anticipate guests’ needs to enhance service quality and guest satisfaction.
• Be familiar with daily restaurant operating standards and communicate with management.

Main duties and responsibilities

• To support the waiting team in any way required to ensure the guest experience is the best it can be.
• To ensure they have full and detailed knowledge of all menus at all times and to contribute confidently in briefings and to guests.
• To consistently deliver Emory standards and LQA Standards in all aspects of service delivery
• Whenever possible, to anticipate guests needs to enhance quality service to heighten client satisfaction and to encourage others to deliver the same.
• To be fully acquainted with the day to day restaurant operational standards.
• Report any problems/complaints immediately and directly to the Restaurant management team.
• To minimise guest recovery and complaints wherever possible through organised and professional service.
• To liaise with other departments to ensure good communication and offer support.
• To ensure that inventoried items are stored properly and issued in rotation to minimize wastage and spoilage.
• To ensure appropriate stock levels required by the department are maintained.
• To ensure deficits are kept to a minimum at all times and corrective action is in place as required.
• To ensure that all goods are put away correctly and neatly and that all areas area cleaned according to the cleaning schedule.
• To perform any other related duties or special tasks as requested by Management, ensuring seamless service for guests
• To ensure liquor and tobacco stocks and sales are under control during shifts and follow any guidelines in place.
