Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Commis Chef to assist the Chef de Partie in preparing meals and maintaining high culinary standards across the home. You will rotate through kitchen stations, including vegetables, fish, and meat, and contribute to a supportive catering environment.

Ideal candidates hold City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ (or equivalent), plus a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, and have at least 1 year of catering experience. DBS disclosure and UK work eligibility are required.

• Be adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
• Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support all chefs to manage and deliver catering services across the home.
• Participate in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss catering functions and dietary needs.
• Prepare nutritional meals to a high standard and in line with mealtimes.
• Prepare special diet meals as directed by the Chefs.
