Job summary

Avery Healthcare is hiring a Commis Chef at Edenbridge Manor Care Home in Kent. You will assist the Chef de Partie, participate in a six-month kitchen rotation, and help prepare meals across vegetables, fish, meat, and sauces. A caring, flexible approach and attention to dietary needs are essential.

You will work within a close-knit team to support resident dignity and safety while delivering nutritious meals to residents. DBS disclosure and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Catering qualification is required such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required.
• Minimum 1 year catering experience is required.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to delivering high-quality culinary services to residents.
• Be adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and basic cooking tasks.
• Work across kitchen areas such as vegetables, fish, meat, and sauces with a six-month rotation.
• Support all chefs to manage and deliver catering services throughout the home.
• Address residents' dietary needs and cultural/religious preferences.
