Job summary

Colten Care is hiring an experienced Commis Chef to join our team at Kingfishers, New Milton. The role involves assisting the Head Chef to prepare home-cooked meals using local ingredients and ensuring meals are nutritionally balanced for residents.

You will work with a friendly team, support staff across shifts, and follow strict health and safety practices. Shift finish is 6:30pm, with paid breaks and opportunities for pay reviews.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commis chef or similar kitchen role.
• City & Guilds 706 1/2 or NVQ Level 2 in Catering / Cookery desirable.
• Able to work flexibly, with shifts finishing at 6:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef with preparing home-cooked meals from local produce.
• Provide nutritionally balanced meals across mealtimes.
• Support catering for dietary needs and special events.
• Support training of new starters and cover Kitchen Assistant when required.
• Maintain safe, hygienic kitchen following Health & Safety and Food Hygiene rules.
• Shifts finish at 6:30pm; paid breaks included.
• Annual pay review.
