Job summary

Colten Care in Poole is seeking an experienced Commis Chef to join our kitchen teams across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. You will assist the Head Chef in preparing home cooked meals from local produce.

The role focuses on nutritious, balanced dishes, supporting dietary needs, and collaborating with a friendly team to deliver a warm, resident-focused dining experience. Excellent training and progression opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

Experience in a similar role is desirable.
City & Guilds 706 1/2 or NVQ Level 2 in Catering / Cookery is desirable.
Able to follow menus and dietary requirements accurately.

Responsibilities

Assist Head Chef to prepare a variety of home cooked meals.
Provide nutritionally balanced meals across mealtimes.
Support catering for dietary needs and special events.
Assist with training and development of new starters and cover Kitchen Assistant when required.
Maintain a safe, hygienic kitchen following H&S and Food Hygiene rules.

Job description

We're searching for an experienced, passionate and well-rounded Commis Chef to join our team based at our homes in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.

Main Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef to prepare a variety of home cooked meals including a selection of fresh cakes from local fresh produce
Provide tasty nutritionally balanced meals across the various mealtimes
Work closely with staff to support catering for specific dietary needs and special events
Provide team support, assisting with the training and development of new starters and covering the Kitchen Assistant when required
Ensure a safe, hygienic working environment by following Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations
