Hotel Co 51 UK is hiring a Commis Chef for the Hop Scotch restaurant at Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow SEC. This full-time role offers a gross hourly rate of £13.47 and a chance to learn under skilled chefs in a busy hospitality environment.

You’ll handle food prep, rotate through kitchen sections, and contribute to maintaining hygiene and portion control. Training, development opportunities, and Marriott staff benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in hospitality/kitchen
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Willingness to work across all kitchen sections and adapt to busy service

We have a fantastic position for a Commis Chef in our new restaurant Hop Scotch at the brand new Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow SEC.

Responsibilities

As a Commis Chef you’re on the first rung of the ladder to becoming a great chef.

You will do food preparation work and basic cooking under the supervision of a Chef de Partie, rotating through sections such as sauce, vegetables, fish and butchery.

This is your big chance to learn all there is to know about your trade.

• Maintaining high standards of hygiene
• Preparing the ingredients for a Chef de Partie, Sous Chef or Head Chef
• Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately
• Dealing with deliveries and stock rotation
