Job summary

Goldsmith Arms in Greater London is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to support a busy kitchen in a community public house. You will prepare ingredients, help run service, and ensure food safety and cleanliness.

Ideal applicants have Commis Chef experience, a zest for food, and a proactive, energetic approach. The role offers opportunities for progression, a positive team atmosphere, and a strong focus on quality.

Qualifications

• Commis chef experience in a busy kitchen.

• Level 3 Health and Safety qualification and knowledge of COSHH.
• Keep kitchen compliant and clean.

Responsibilities

• Preparing food – labeling and stocking ingredients; washing and chopping vegetables; cutting meat; basic cooking duties.
• Helping run the food service.
• Closing down procedures to secure equipment and produce.

Job description

Your job role will include:

• Preparing food – labelling & stocking all ingredients; washing and chopping vegetables; cutting meat; and undertaking basic cooking duties
• Helping run the food service
• Following close down procedure at the end of shift to ensure safety of equipment and security of produce is maintained

• Able to work with the Head Chef and Sous to deliver delicious food to a high standard
• Level 3 Health and Safety Qualification with a thorough understanding on food safety, COSHH, and H&S
• Keeping the kitchen cleanliness to a high standard and keeping kitchen compliance up to date
