Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Exeter Sandy Park is seeking an enthusiastic commis chef to join our 3rd floor kitchen team. You will assist senior chefs with meal prep using locally sourced Devon ingredients and contribute to a high-quality service for business and leisure guests.

The role is full time (40 hours per week) with a pay rate of £13.19 per hour, meals on duty, and a range of employee benefits. NVQ Level 2 in catering preferred and ongoing training is provided to support your development.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• NVQ Level 2 in catering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
• Maintain uniform and personal appearance; ensure cleanliness and professionalism.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach goals.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; reach overhead and below the knees; lift up to 25 pounds.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the team as a commis chef. Ideally someone who has completed their level 2 NVQ in catering. You will be supported in your journey as a proffessional chef with training and development.

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
