Job summary

Auto Skills UK is recruiting for an experienced Commercial Vehicle Technician in Grimsby/Immingham to maintain and repair commercial vehicles to high safety and DVSA standards. The role involves MOT prep, diagnostics, and on-site/off-site servicing within a busy workshop.

The successful candidate will have 2+ years of relevant experience, NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3, a full UK driving licence, and strong mechanical/diagnostic skills. Competitive salary and benefits on offer.

Location: Grimsby / North Lincolnshire

Salary: £44,400

Hours: 45 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Shift Pattern: Rotating early/late shifts + alternate Saturday mornings

We're recruiting for experienced Commercial Vehicle Technicians to join a well-established commercial vehicle workshop in Immingham.

There are opportunities for HGV Technicians, LCV Technicians and full-range Commercial Vehicle Technicians, making this a great opportunity for technicians from a variety of commercial vehicle backgrounds.

Working Hours

The role operates on a rotating shift pattern:

Early Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-3:30pm

Late Shift: Monday-Friday, 1:00pm-10:30pm

Alternate Saturdays: 7:00am-12:00pm

The Role

As a Commercial Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles to a high standard, helping to keep vehicles safe, compliant and on the road.

Duties will include:

• Inspection and repair of commercial vehicles to DVSA standards
• MOT preparation and presentation
• Mechanical and electrical repairs
• Diagnostics and fault finding using specialist equipment
• Servicing and preventative maintenance
• Attending breakdowns and carrying out off-site repairs when required
• Completing accurate job records and paperwork
• Working efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a Commercial Vehicle Technician, HGV Technician or similar role
• NVQ, City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 2 years' relevant experience
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• HGV, LCV or commercial vehicle experience
• Full UK Driving Licence
• A reliable, professional and committed approach

Main dealer experience would be advantageous, but technicians from all backgrounds will be considered.
