Responsibilities

• Support the branch with day-to-day pricing and network enquiries, ensuring requests are handled accurately and promptly.
• Obtain, maintain and update freight rates from carriers, suppliers and overseas partners.
• Prepare and issue freight quotations in line with pricing structures and customer requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers, carriers and overseas agents for rates and service information.
• Maintain accurate pricing, network and supplier records.
• Regularly review pricing information to keep it accurate and competitive.
• Assist with analysing rates, routes and market information for pricing opportunities.
• Produce pricing and commercial reports.
• Provide general support to the Commercial team including ad-hoc projects.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Pricing & Commercial Support Assistant to join a busy freight forwarding team in Ipswich.

This role will support the branch with day-to-day pricing, rate management, quotations and network enquiries. You will work closely with carriers, suppliers, overseas agents and internal teams to ensure competitive and accurate pricing is maintained and customer requirements are met.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with sales or freight forwarding experience looking to develop their commercial and pricing knowledge within the logistics sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the branch with day-to-day pricing and network enquiries, ensuring requests are handled accurately and promptly.
• Obtain, maintain and update freight rates from carriers, suppliers and overseas network partners.
• Prepare and issue freight quotations in line with agreed pricing structures and customer requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers, carriers and overseas agents to obtain rates, transit times, routing options and service information.
• Maintain accurate pricing, network and supplier records.
• Regularly review pricing information to ensure it remains accurate and competitive.
• Assist with analysing rates, routes, services and market information to identify opportunities for improved pricing and network solutions.
• Produce pricing and commercial reports.
• Provide general support to the Commercial team, including ad-hoc projects and requests from senior management.
