Job summary

Conrad Consulting Ltd is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for an established contractor operating in civil engineering and infrastructure sectors. You will manage the commercial performance from procurement through to final accounts, working closely with project teams, subcontractors and clients.

The role emphasizes cost control, budget management and timely valuations, with opportunities to develop expertise in NEC/JCT contracts and procurement strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor in construction, civils or infrastructure.
• Strong commercial and financial awareness.
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and procurement.
• Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance of allocated projects.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
• Manage subcontractor procurement and commercial accounts.
• Prepare valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Manage variations, compensation events and contractual changes.
• Monitor project costs, commitments and cash flow.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support contract administration and commercial negotiations.
• Work closely with project and site teams to ensure effective cost control.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Provide regular commercial reporting to senior management.
