Job description

Sellick Partnership is excited to be working with a Legal 500 law firm who are looking for a Commercial Property Solicitor to join their team in Newcastle.

Your responsibilities will include:

Draft, negotiate, and review legal documents such as contracts, leases, agreements for lease, and licences.Conduct due diligence including reviewing title documents, searches, and planning consents.Advise clients on landlord and tenant matters, including lease renewals, rent reviews, and break clauses.Handle acquisitions and disposals of commercial premises, development land, and investment properties.Liaise with clients, developers, local authorities, surveyors, lenders, and other stakeholders.Register transactions with HM Land Registry and ensure compliance with SDLT requirements.Manage risk and ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and regulatory obligations.Provide clear, commercially focused legal advice tailored to client needs.

The successful candidate:

3 + years PQE in commercial property law.Proven track record of managing a broad caseload of commercial property transactions independently.Strong knowledge of property law, land law, landlord and tenant law, and related legislation.Experience handling acquisitions, disposals, leases, and development matters.Ability to draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial property documents.Familiarity with land registration and SDLT procedures.Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.Commercial awareness and ability to deliver practical, business-oriented advice.
