Job summary
Gatwick Airport Limited is seeking a Project Engineer (Commercial) to shape strategic property and retail-led works at London Gatwick. The role adopts a hybrid pattern with three days in the office and two days remote, offering a competitive package including circa £62,000 base salary, a 5% Welcome Bonus, £1,100 flex allowance and up to 15% bonus, plus benefits.
You will lead design scope, briefs for external consultants, and ensure sustainable, compliant solutions across multi‑million projects
Qualifications
- University degree in an engineering or architectural discipline.
- Chartered membership of a recognised Engineering or Architectural Institution is desirable.
- Knowledge of technical and regulatory requirements relevant to the field.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams on complex projects.
- Understanding NEC contracts and their implementation is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Developing project scope to meet business needs and delivering effective design management.
- Preparing design briefs for external consultants and managing design contracts.
- Pursuing sustainable design solutions to meet project requirements and reduce carbon emissions.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to support successful delivery of projects.
- Providing technical input to design changes through the project lifecycle.
- Acting as Principal Designer contact under CDM Regulations 2015 with support from the CDM Advisor.
