Job summary

IDEX Consulting Ltd is seeking an experienced Marine Trades Underwriter to own the Marine Trades binder, promote products to brokers and help shape the next phase of growth.

The role is heavily broker-facing with UK brokers and opportunities to develop business with European clients, in a fully remote setup.

With a negotiable salary and bonus for new business growth, this is a chance to gain autonomy, influence and contribute to a growing MGA proposition.

Job description

Experienced Marine or Commercial Underwriter who enjoys being out in front of Brokers promoting products and developing relationships?

A growing, entrepreneurial Marine Insurance Broker with an established Marine platform and strong capacity behind it is now looking to appoint an experienced Marine Trades Underwriter to take ownership of its Marine Trades binder and help shape the next phase of growth.

The opportunity is to help build the Marine Trades proposition, develop the broker distribution strategy and work closely with senior leadership to grow the portfolio in a controlled and sustainable way.

You will work with UK based Brokers but be given the opportunity to develop business with wider, European players.

The role will be heavily wholesale/broker facing, with a focus on:

• Developing relationships with retail and wholesale brokers
• Driving quality Marine Trades submissions into the binder
• Owning the underwriting strategy and appetite
• Maintaining strong underwriting discipline and loss ratios
• Working closely with senior leadership across both the underwriting and broking sides of the business
