Job summary

Great British Energy - Nuclear is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead procurement and commercial contracting for the Civils Engineering and Civils Construction elements of the SMR Programme. This role manages multi‑million pound procurements and collaborates with Finance, Legal and Technical teams across Warrington or London.

You will report to the Senior Commercial Lead, shaping strategies, drafting commercial mechanisms, and ensuring robust governance through the full lifecycle

Qualifications

• Experience in nuclear, construction, engineering or critical infrastructure programmes.
• Strong NEC contract drafting and negotiation experience.
• Familiarity with public sector procurement rules and CCS experience desirable.
• Experience working with government processes and developing business cases in line with HMT Green Book.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement and commercial activity across the full lifecycle: strategy → tender → contract award → supplier mobilisation.
• Shape packaging, sourcing and commercial strategies with robust commercial models.
• Oversee ITT development, pricing models, negotiation plans and contract documentation.
• Manage external contractors/consultants and budgets, supporting approvals and business cases.
• Collaborate with Finance, PMO, Legal and Technical teams to provide a seamless service.
