Job description

Picerne Real Estate Group has been building and managing properties continuously since 1925. With three members of leadership driving ongoing growth, pride of ownership is a core value of our company. We are currently seeking a Commercial Maintenance Technician with proven skills in retail and office properties located in Cranston and Warwick, RI.

Our preference is to hire someone on a part-time basis to start (2-3 days per week), with the possibility of transitioning to full-time after a 4 to 6 month probationary period.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Travel between 20+ local properties as needed. Respond to inspections and work orders as requested by the Property Manager. Make minor repairs, including basic mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting tasks.
2. Communicate effectively and professionally with tenants, coworkers, and vendors.
3. Work independently while following safety protocols.
4. Proactively suggest property improvements.
5. Inspect grounds, roofs, lighting, HVAC systems, and pick up trash at properties.
6. Coordinate with HVAC, fire alarm, electrical, and plumbing vendors during scheduled visits.
7. Manage janitorial vendors and inventory at office properties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid driver's license required.
• Reliable vehicle required; mileage will be reimbursed. A company vehicle may be provided when full-time.
• Background screening required.
• Flexible part-time schedule between 7 AM and 4 PM, Monday to Friday. Some on-call hours for emergencies are expected.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• $22 per hour to start
