Job summary

Eventus Legal in Manchester is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join a well-established private practice. You will manage a varied caseload, including contract claims and shareholder disputes, and support senior colleagues on high value litigation.

The role offers hybrid working, standard hours 9am–5:30pm, and a generous benefits package with 25 days leave, pension contributions, life cover and a bonus scheme, with clear opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Experience running your own complex commercial litigation caseload.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
• Strong client care and business development abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of commercial disputes, including contract claims, shareholder and director disputes, professional negligence, debt recovery and breach of warranty matters.
• Draft pleadings, witness statements, instructions to counsel and settlement documentation.
• Conduct legal research and prepare reports, advice notes and litigation strategies.
• Managing pre-action correspondence, negotiations and ADR processes, including mediation.
• Providing pragmatic, commercially minded advice that balances legal risk with commercial objectives.
• Attending hearings, conferences and client meetings alongside senior members of the team.
• Contributing to the team's profile through articles, presentations, training and networking.
• Building and maintaining long-standing client relationships and supporting cross-departmental collaboration.
• Mentoring junior colleagues within the team.
