Job summary

OCU is seeking a Head of Commercial to lead the commercial function for a portfolio of major energy infrastructure projects. You will shape strategy, governance and risk management while directing a team of Commercial Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Administrators.

You will negotiate high-value EPC contracts, manage compensation events, variations and claims, and present performance and forecasts to the Executive team and Board.

Qualifications

• Proven experience negotiating contracts valued in excess of £25 million–£100 million.
• Experienced leading commercial teams of 10–30+ professionals.
• Extensive sector knowledge across renewable generation, energy infra, and related contracts.
• Significant experience negotiating and administering FIDIC, NEC, and bespoke EPC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial strategy across major projects from tender through to final account (£25m–£100m).
• Inspire and develop a high-performing commercial team.
• Drive commercial governance, contract reviews, delegated authority and risk management.
• Negotiate high-value EPC, BoP, Design & Build, Framework and bespoke client agreements.
• Monitor portfolio performance including revenue, profitability, forecasts and risk.
