Role Overview
You will lead a team appropriate for the business area you are responsible for. The role may involve expanding the team and maintaining a strong demand versus capacity balance.
Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with peers across business areas and the Commercial team to define support responsibilities and ensure training for Contract Owners or relevant roles.
- Stakeholder Influence: Promote and implement internal procurement policies and supplier management standards within business areas.
- Category Strategy Development: Assist in developing long-term category strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Commercial Priorities: Agree upon and challenge strategic Commercial priorities with business areas.
- Pipeline Management: Ensure delivery of procurement activities, market development, and value realization.
- Procurement Pipeline: Maintain a multi-year procurement pipeline for effective delivery.
- Capability Development: Develop commercial competencies through engagement and training, aligning expertise.
- Supplier Negotiations: Manage supplier disputes and complex negotiations.
- Supplier Accountability: Oversee Gold suppliers and cross-tower suppliers, collaborating with Relationship Owners.
- Contract & Supplier Management: Promote effective contract and supplier management practices.
- Risk Management: Implement risk controls to ensure policy compliance.
- Sustainability: Drive sustainability initiatives within the category, working with Subject Matter Specialists.
- Performance Metrics: Identify and monitor metrics for performance and improvement.
- eProcurement Systems: Ensure efficient and consistent use of eProcurement tools in line with policies.
- Quality Assurance: Provide challenge and quality checks on tender documents.
- Team Management: Oversee workload and development of your team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Technical Capabilities:
- Proven experience managing complex suppliers and stakeholders to optimize commercial outcomes, including innovative solutions and strategic planning.
- Experience with PCR-level public procurement and public-sector frameworks.
- Experience working in client-focused environments throughout project lifecycles.
- Post-contract supplier and contract management experience.
- Strong stakeholder management and assertiveness skills, with the ability to challenge effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, capable of engaging at all levels.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
