Job summary

FM Search & Select Ltd is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer for mobile work across the North West, centered on Manchester. You will service and maintain large commercial boilers, diagnose faults, and manage a mobile workload with an on-call rota.

The role requires full UK driving licence and comfortable working across multiple commercial sites with travel paid door-to-door. Opportunities exist to expand into broader HVAC responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer.
• Experience servicing and maintaining large commercial boilers.
• Relevant commercial gas qualifications.
• Strong fault-finding and reactive maintenance experience.
• Experience working across commercial properties.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance on commercial heating systems.
• Servicing and maintaining large commercial boilers and associated plant.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
• Completing remedial works and identifying follow-on requirements.
• Working across a range of commercial client sites.
• Supporting wider HVAC systems where required.
• Working on both heating and air conditioning equipment where suitably qualified.
• Completing job sheets, compliance documentation and service reports.
• Liaising directly with clients and providing a high standard of customer service.
• Managing your own workload and mobile schedule.
• Participating in the 1 in 7 on-call rota.

Commercial Gas Engineer - Manchester / North West

FM Search & Select are recruiting for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join a specialist HVAC contractor covering commercial sites across the North West and wider surrounding area.

This is a mobile role working primarily on large-scale commercial heating systems and boilers, with a mix of planned and reactive maintenance.

We are particularly keen to speak with engineers who have broader HVAC experience, ideally covering both commercial heating and air conditioning, and who are comfortable working across technically demanding commercial environments.

The Role

• Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance on commercial heating systems.
• Servicing and maintaining large commercial boilers and associated plant.

On-Call Requirement

The on-call rota is 1 week in every 7.

Candidates should be aware that during the on-call week the coverage area is larger than the normal day-to-day patch, so flexibility to travel across a wider geographical area is essential.
