Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a Commercial Gas Engineer for a permanent role in the M65 Corridor/Chorley area. The position involves maintenance and servicing of HVAC assets, with a focus on gas-fired systems for supermarket contracts. On-call standby is 1:4 with a salary of £46,994.

The ideal candidate will hold Commercial Gas qualifications (at least 4 from the list) and be F Gas (2079) qualified; 17th/18th Edition is desirable and unvented water heater knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Hold recognized Commercial Gas qualifications – at least 4 of the listed certificates (COCN1, CIGA1, CORT1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CENWAT, CPA1, CDGA1, CCP1)
• F Gas (2079) qualified
• 17th or 18th Edition (Desirable)
• Unvented Water Heaters – HWSS Hot Water Systems & Safety (G3 Unvented HWS) – Essential

Responsibilities

• Complete the PPM schedule with accurate paperwork.
• Respond to service calls and assess/repair within timescales.
• Service and maintenance on HVAC assets (gas boilers, AHUs, DX coils, heat pumps, pumps, boilers, chillers).
• Identify non-repairable faults and advise on replacements.
• All tasks performed within Health, Safety & Environmental policies.

My client is on the lookout for an experienced HVAC Technician to join the team. You will have the opportunity to work on one of their leading supermarket contracts.

Key Responsibilities – Commercial Gas Engineer

• Complete the PPM agreed schedule ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
• To respond (promptly and positively) to service call/alarm requests from the central Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as necessary within agreed timescales and response times. Updating the call and job status afterwards.
• Carry out service and maintenance on HVAC assets including but not limited to air handling units with gas fired heating, LPHW, DX coils, heat pump systems, single split air conditioning, LPHW boilers, pumps, inverters, DHW boilers, and water chillers.
• To identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Line Manager of findings and to make recommendations to the Line Manager regarding suitable replacement.
• All completed within our Health, Safety & Environmental policies

• 42.5 Hours Per Week, 8:30am-5:00pm
• 25 days + 8 bank holidays
• Overtime
• Travel time after ½ hour each way
