Aila Recruitment is partnering with a market-leading business in Aylesbury to appoint a Commercial Finance Analyst on a permanent basis. You will report to the Group Financial Controller and move beyond transactional work into commercial analysis, owning weekly and monthly reporting while partnering across Sales, Service, Installations, Operations and Stores.

Responsibilities

• Produce weekly and monthly reporting, dashboards and MI.
• Analyse revenue, margin, overheads, working capital and cash; explain variances with actions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and longer-term planning; build financial models.
• Analyse project/installation profitability (labour, materials, subcontractors, WIP).
• Review contract profitability, productivity and manpower utilisation.
• Analyse product/customer profitability, pricing and discounts; partner with ops managers.

Are you an analytically minded Finance Analyst and part-qualified Accountant with strong Excel skills, who wants to get out of the transactional work and into proper commercial analysis? Aila Recruitment is working exclusively with a market-leading business in Aylesbury to appoint a Commercial Finance Analyst on a permanent basis.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this is a newly created role designed to give the business the financial and operational insight it needs to improve profitability, cash flow and decision-making. You'll own the weekly and monthly reporting, dig into margin and project profitability, and business partner across Sales, Service, Installations, Operations and Stores.

This is not a transactional job. The business is automating its manual processes, so your time goes into analysis, insight and improvement. It will suit someone commercially curious who enjoys getting under the numbers, asking why, and having the confidence to challenge managers constructively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce weekly and monthly reporting, dashboards and management information.
• Analyse revenue, margin, overheads, working capital and cash performance, explaining variances against budget, forecast and prior year with recommended actions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, longer-term planning and financial modelling.
• Analyse project and installation profitability, including labour, materials, subcontractors and WIP.
• Review service contract profitability, engineer productivity, labour recovery, overtime and call-outs.
• Analyse customer, product and sales profitability, pricing and discounts.
• Partner with operational managers to explain performance and agree practical actions.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in management accounting, FP&A or a strongly analytical finance role.
• Excellent Excel skills with a sound understanding of budgets, forecasts, margins and working capital.
• Able to turn financial and operational data into clear recommendations for non-finance colleagues.
• Commercial curiosity, attention to detail, ownership and the confidence to challenge constructively.
• Studying towards ACCA or CIMA
